Birthday party idea

The greatest sister in law happens to belong to me. Beautiful, serene, talented and extremely good, an angel from on high...as I like to call her. She barely turned 39, but I'm looking toward the future, for her 40th. Now this sister in law has thrown so many big, extravagant parties for other people but no one has thrown her anything bigger than a bbq. So I want to do something great for her....like a prom...circa 1988, the year she graduated. I might be dreaming big here, but I'm looking for people willing to don the fabulous fashions of that great era and boogie down like there's no tomorrow. I'll be willing to pay for actors...I'm looking for people who are willing to show up looking like this

and your man looking like this...

You must also be willing to dance to funky 80's music (you know I got this one covered) and MUST be willing to take a prom picture with your date in front of a hokey backdrop, like these

(I'm envisioning a backdrop with the stairs going heavenward, coupled with a street light and a huge wicker chair)
(you can also have group pictures if you want, so you can remember which of your friends attended the event with you)
(and if your date doesn't think this will work for him, tell him he might get lucky ;) like he didn't the first time arounds....)

What do you think, yea or nay?

I would fully love to do my hair like that second picture. Not just for the party---but for real life.

That is awesome! Can I make a totally rad dress out of a Snuggie?

I don't think I could pull it off; my inner trendiness would be too hard to hide.

That is totally RAD! I wish I still had my "units" outfit that had the shirt clip on the side.

I'm so there!! Would you like some pictures, that was my era too? Will the Kevin Bacon from Footloose be making an appearance?
How about some dance moves from Girls Just Wanna Have Fun?

Um, you know I hire out for parties on a regular boogie basis.
